My Sewing Room Class - Runaway Kawandi Grace Tote

Hey Canadians, I'm heading your way to My Sewing Room, Calgary, Canada. Come and join me for a Workshop, making our Runaway Kawandi Grace Tote! This project is perfect for those who love quilting and/or creating something unique!

Inspired by the beautiful textures of traditional Kawandi quilting, this class combines machine stitching, fabric layering and creative embellishment to transform the Grace Tote into a truly one-of-a-kind bag.

We'll begin by stencilling the tote's gusset to create a unique coordinating feature before moving on to the signature Runaway Kawandi technique. You'll learn how to build texture with fabric scraps, decorative stitching and thoughtful layering, creating a wonderfully organic, handcrafted look.

By the end of class you'll have the confidence to continue embellishing your tote at home and apply these techniques to many future projects.
