In order to maintain your felt kit looking it's best, we suggest before embellishing that you spray and iron your felt pieces with a spray starch. (we use and recommend Mary Ellen's Best Press) this is a good way to remove creases from packing and also to give the felt a little coating.
As felt is not woven and has fibres of unequal weight, it can sometimes pill when there is friction against it. By spraying this helps to keep this to a minimum.
